Chamuera 2021

La Punt Chamues-ch is the second municipality to be awarded the “River Pearl PLUS” label. This is in recognition of its commitment to the river Chamuera. The municipality is one of the first to take this step and, with the label, commits itself to caring for the Ova Chamuera and improving her ecological conditions where possible.

The Val Chamuera is one of the most untouched mountain valleys of the Upper Engadin. The valley is located south of the village “La Punt Chamues-ch” and includes several side valleys drained by the Ova Chamuera and by a wide network of tributaries. The great peculiarity of the valley is its tranquility and seclusion.

The official label ceremony took place on October 8, 2021, with contributions from:

Jakob Stieger, President of the Municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch,

Fadri Guidon, President of the Municipality of Bever

Jan Steiner, Engadin St. Moritz Tourism AG

Catherine Martinson, Member of the Executive Board of WWF Switzerland

Kilian Steiner, Tourism Manager La Punt Chamues-ch
